The common areas of the building are well kept Carpets are cleaned regularly and the landscaped areas are kept tidy The location is close to river pathways and a mix of events that are held in the area such as Canada day fireworks music festivals food truck frenzies yoga classes community bike rides and walks Shakespeare in the park etc I would recommend it to young couples and singles

To buddy who said that all repairs have been completed properly What are you talking about Elevator 2 still isn't working And it doesn't look as though it will be for a long time

DO NOT BUY IN THIS BUILDING The Management Company is the worst poor communication little to no communication actually awful on site care taker the fire alarm went of 5 times in one week in the middle of the night on going problem there's no soundproofing between floors loud no security poorly maintained common areas and the flood has caused the building to buckle our front door and deck door frames are off square so they have to be kicked open and shut If you read any positive reviews on here DISREGARD THEM These are from people who own in the building and are clinging onto scraps of positivity so they can one day sell their unit without taking a huge loss I ve lived in several condo buildings and this one is by FAR the absolute worst STAY AWAY

York West was terrible for the flood I had to rely on twitter for news The condo board eventually put up a page but not everyone used it The board seems ineffectual Not much actual regulation to keep noise down no one properly monitors waste removal or gets after people for storing MANY things on patios no proper recycling set up 4 months post flood no communication as to repair status On the subject of waste removal they had a couple cleaning for a while before the flood at least the waste room was clean and the compactor would not run all the time But now we seem to be back to just letting it become a rotting mess I won't complain about the flood damage there was a lot and still a lot to fix but I happen to know we are not the only ones in that boat I love being near downtown I love the East Village development plans lived here for years and always felt safe But seriously York West has proven to be the worst Improper amount of notice given for things like alarm testing and even repairs frankly we could use more of a heads up Very poor co ordiation of repairs with contractors pre AND post flood They will never return a call from anyone I m not sure who to be mad at flooding aside there are a lot of issues here that are actually avoidable

Worst management company in the business When the floods came we had to walk the buildings next door to get flood updates Another company stay away from Yorkwest and this building if your lucky

I ve been in the building in a 2 bed 2 bath unit for a little over a year and have been quite happy with it The convenience and advantages of being right on the river and soo close to DT are great Most of the complaints from the earlier review are resolved The only security issues I ve seen are couple of car breakins outside on the street I live on the top floor so cannot comment on the noise from units above but have had no noise problems including fire alarm issues I have never seen the elevator out of order and lets be serious its only a 4 storey building The main level noise from the compacter is still an issue but the building has limited the hours of use to try and limt impact All repairs seem to have been completed properly All things considered I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing a unit in the building it seems to be fairly poorly managed and a little prone to problems
