The average height of condos across Canada has been steadily increasing over the years, with a rise of tall residential buildings being constructed in the 2000s. The bulk of these supertall buildings are built in the high density cities, like Toronto or Vancouver. In the Greater Toronto Area, the average condo height in the 1990s was 15 storeys. “Today, the average condo building in construction or preconstruction is 21 storeys tall in the GTA, and 26 storeys in central Toronto.

The SkyTower is set to be the tallest residential building in Canada, measuring at 352 metres, 109 storeys. The condo is designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and developed by Pinnacle International, as part of Pinnacle One Yonge master plan. The SkyTower will have over 950 residential units with a large array of amenities, including a pool, yoga studio, fitness centre, and entertainment space. The tower will be divided into sections with floor 1-12 being home to Le Méridien hotel, floors 14-82 are part of the Signature Collection, 83-88 are the Landmark Collection, 89-99 are the Vista Collection, and 100-104 are the SkyVilla Collection
